Fez, February 26, 2025 – The smart meter production line, a joint project between Hexing Electrical and its key Moroccan partner Zinco, was officially put into operation in Fez at the zone industrial of Bensouda à Fès. The commissioning ceremony was held with the esteemed presence of Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade and various distinguished guests.

Zinco, a subsidiary of Morocco's Zinelec Group, specializes in the production of water and electricity meters, and reinforced concrete poles for power lines, and public lighting solutions. The launch of this smart meter production line is a testament to the deep collaboration between Zinco and Hexing Electrical, and it marks Morocco's first localized smart meter production project.

The smart meter production line of Zinco, in which Hexing Electrical has actively participated, represents a total investment of 12 million dirhams, with an anticipated annual production capacity of 900,000 smart meters and the creation of 71 local jobs. Employing industry-leading smart meter technology and the latest manufacturing techniques, the production line enables precise measurement of electricity consumption, remote management, and seamless integration into smart grids. These capabilities address the growing national demand for modernized energy infrastructure and support Morocco's energy transition.
